The Dukes of September is headed up by the power trio of Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz Skaggs. The backing band and singers were made up mostly of Steely Dan's band from last years tour including the guitar skills of Jon Herington who did all the heavy lifting playing all the lead guitar in excellent fashion. The Duke's set included hits from all three and many covers of a little bit of everything. They opened with Whos That Lady and covered many other songs including The Same Thing, Piece of My Heart and You Never Can Tell to name a few. McDonald did a couple of good Doobie Brothers numbers including What A Fool Believes and Takin To The Streets, Scaggs entertained with Miss Sun and Lowdown. Donald Fagen dominated with Steely Dan classics such as Kid Charlemagne, with Herington performing a great guitar solo, Hey 19 and finishing the set with Reeling In The Years. The band came out and played several encores including Steely Dan's Pretzel Logic and Peg. Scaggs did his classic hit Lido Shuffle. Although all a little older they all still entertained with the help of some good backup singers and an excellent band.Slideshow
