Legendary Diana Ross Thrills The Crowd At CMAC

6/18/2014 - Canandaigua, New York - Another day, another free concert compliments of Deb. This time the show was at CMAC and the performer was the legendary talents of Diana Ross. We stopped and picked up a couple of Deb's pals and headed to the show. We had VIP parking and VIP tent access, which gave us free drinks and a buffet prior to the show. The crowd for this show was small, almost no people on the lawn. Diana hit the stage promptly at eight. She was accompanied by a full band, including a horn section and some excellent backup singers. She played a fantastic but short set of hits from all the eras of her five decade career and several great covers. She opened the show with I'm Coming Out. She went on to play many of her hits with the Supremes, including Baby Love, Stop! In The Name Of Love and one of my personal favorites Love Child. She did not miss a beat as she belted out her tunes and sounded fantastic. She played many of her own hits like Upside Down, Do You Know Where Your Going To and finished with the Gloria Gaynor Cover of I Will Survive. Although the set was short the small older crowd absolutely loved it. Diana came out for two encores that included Reach Out And Touch Somebody's Hand and finished with a second encore of Endless Love which brought the crowd to its feet. This was a great show featuring a legendary performer and it was FREE! We concluded the evening with a stop at the Finger Lake Racetrack and Casino for some late night gambling. Slideshow
