Steve Miller Band & Peter Frampton Jam Artpark

7/3/2018 - Lewiston, New York - It's Tuesday In July and that means another classic rock show at Artpark's Tuesday In The Park Concert Series in Lewiston, New York. We hopped in the car and headed West early on this hot July day to see a double dose of excellent classic rock featuring Peter Frampton and the Steve Miller Band. We arrived early and encountered large lines but managed to get are usual spot, the show was completely sold out. Peter Frampton came out first and played a great set. It included great takes on Lines On My Face, Show Me The Way and an excellent cover of Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun. During the set Peter provided plenty of stories including going to the Bahamas to record an album but instead hanging with Alvin Lee partying for two weeks until finally writing the great Frampton album in eight days. He also told the tale of recovering his guitar from Humble Pie 30 years later after assuming it was lost in a cargo plane crash. The band sounded excellent and they finished with Do You Feel Like We Do. After a short break Steve Miller and his band hit the stage and did as many hits as they could fit in their set. They opened with The Stake and played other classics like True Fine Love, Take The Money and Run and I Want To Make The World Turnaround to name a few. It also included Peter Frampton coming out and joining Steve for a couple blues tunes, including Freddie King's Same Old Blues and Elmore James' Stranger Blues. Steve and his band came out for two encores first Fly Like An Eagle and closing out the show with Jet Airliner. An excellent show that had one of the largest crowds I have ever seen at Artpark, keep the good acts coming.Slideshow
