 7/6/2018 - Batavia, New York - Today, I headed West down NY Route 33 on my way to Batavia Downs Raceway for their Rockin' The Downs Concert series, tonight's headliner act the classic rock of Blue Oyster Cult. I received a call from my brother who acquired free all access passes and a front row seat to watch the show. We arrived early and watched the three opening bands on this perfect July evening who were all just okay. Blue Oyster Cult came out and did a great set of their classics. The set included Godzilla attacking from Lake Erie and the need for more cowbell on the classic (Don't Fear) The Reaper. They finished the night with a nice jam on Cities On Flame With Rock and Roll. Following the show Batavia Downs put on a really good fireworks display right behind the stage to celebrate the July Fourth holiday.
