 10/19/2018 - Ischia, Italy - The day started with a nice breakfast delivered to our villa at Villa Angiolina Relais in the lovely village of Sorrento. We did our almost daily walk down thru the village of Sorrento to the port to catch a ferry to our destination of the day the volcanic island of Ischia located in the Gulf of Naples, Italy. The ferry ride was about 50 minutes and offered nice views of Sorrento and Ischia. We walked the island and went to the Cartaromana Beach. Roman remains lie beneath the sea floor at Cartaromana Beach. The beach has views of the medieval Aragonese Castle, that is linked to Ischia by a stone bridge. Nearby, 18th-century Palazzo dell’Orologio houses the Sea Museum, devoted to Ischia’s fishing tradition. We had dinner at a nice restaurant La Raffaele.Slideshow |
