Road Trip North To Casino Rama for Music, Gambling and Fun

3/1/2014 - Rama, Ontario - We hit the road early today to go way up north of the border to Rama, Ontario for a weekend getaway to Casino Rama to see the band Chicago. It was a nice day for a drive most of the way until we got way up north and encountered cold and huge amounts of snow. On the way we stopped at one of Deb's favorite restaurants for an early lunch / dinner the Swiss Chalet. We arrived early afternoon at our hotel the Best Western Plus Couchiching Inn in Orillia only a couple minutes from the Casino. We checked into our room which was decent and then headed to the casino to do some gambling prior to the concert. We hit some luck and won a couple bucks playing blackjack, then headed to the show. The venue at Casino Rama was nice and we had good seats four rows from the stage. Chicago hit the stage promptly at nine and played a really good set. They played many of their hits from all the eras of their career including Questions 67 & 68, Dialogue, Searchin', Beginnings, I'm A Man, Free and Feelin Stronger Everyday to name a few. They played for almost two and a half hours and played with great energy. The horns were excellent and the band was pretty tight. They finished with the encore of their classic tune 25 or 6 to 4. This was a really good concert and afterward we hit the casino for more gambling. After the late night we headed back to the hotel to a nice cozy fire in the lobby and wokeup to a nice free breakfast before hitting the road back to the Roc to celebrate Nicole's 19th Bday.
