Earth Wind & Fire Get The Funk Out At Eastman Theatre

6/27/2014 - Rochester, New York - The one concert that Deb circled as a must have was tonight as part of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, the main performer today was the band Earth, Wind & Fire in the glorious Eastman Theatre in downtown Rochester, New York. I managed to snag a couple decent tickets the day they went on sale months ago, sitting front row balcony. We arrived at the Jazz Festival early enjoying some delicious nice steak hogies from Bayou Billys. We managed to take in some of the jazzy funk sounds of Ester Rada on the outdoor stage. We headed into Eastman Theatre to the late arriving sellout crowd as Earth, Wind & Fire took the stage. They opened their set with Boogie Wonderland. They played many of their hits with great energy, including Sing A Song, Shining Star, Got To Get You Into My Life and September. The band included a horn section, a couple of guitarists and were very good. The show also included the band bringing out an Eastman School sax player to join the band for a special number. They came out for one encore In The Stone. They put on a good show that was well received by the sellout Eastman Theatre crowd. Slideshow
