George Thorogood And London Souls Close Out Jazz Festival

6/28/2014 - Rochester, New York - Another day and another free show, this time no tickets needed as we headed to downtown Rochester, New York to see the closing act of the 2014 Xerox International Jazz Festival, two awesome artists one old and one new. The rock and blues sounds of the great band from NYC The London Souls step into the new role and the blues slide guitar of George Thorogood and The Destroyers fill in the elder role. We headed down early to get a good spot and were able to get center stage front row and we decided we were too close to the stage and moved back a dozen rows back center stage. We enjoyed some of the awesome steak sandwiches from Bayou Billys and then took our spot. The London Souls came out promptly at seven and played a good set of original songs and a couple of covers. Front man Tash Neal rocked the house with some good licks and good vocals, breaking strings on not one but two guitars. Thorogood and the Destroyers hit the stage and played their typical set opening with Born To Be Bad and running thru hits old and new. It included Move It On Over, I Drink Alone, Night Time and One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer. The crowd was large and squeezed in from every side. George seemed to enjoy it and told the crowd he would like to come back. He came out for one encore of Madison Blues. This was a great free show!Slideshow
