Road Trip For Some Relaxation Time On Alexandria Bay

7/16/2014 - Alexandria Bay, New York - Today we headed out on road trip up north to the 1000 Islands on Alexandria Bay. We started out with a nice breakfast at the Hilton Diner and hit the road. We arrived mid afternoon and had to wait for our rooms at the Rivers Edge Resort. We stopped for a quick late lunch at Rileys right on Alexandria Bay, after which are rooms were ready. The room was nice with and excellent view of the bay and Boldt Castle from the room's balcony. The first day included dock fishing, being entertained by the flyboarders, and taking in a nice sunset. We took a nice tour with Uncle Sam Boat Tours taking the Two Country tour. On the tour we explored the 1000 Islands area from both the US and Canandian sides. The tour showed us the many gorgeous houses on both sides of the border and then ended at Boldt Castle where we stopped and toured the castle that is still in the middle of being fully renovated. After the tour we had a nice dinner at Cavallario's Steak & Seafood House and did some more late night dock fishing taking in the sunset. The next day we had a nice breakfast at the Riveredge hotel restaurant. We then headed to the Alex Bay 500 to enjoy some gokarts and practice our putting at mini golf. We managed to find a charter, Captain Larry who took us out on his vintage boat for some fishing. It did not take long as Deb caught 2 nice Northern Pike and Dom caught a nice bass. With only minutes before the trip ended Gerry caught a nice Northern Pike to complete the trip. After the successful tour we packed up and headed back a nice getaway. Slideshow
