 8/29/2015 - Saratoga Springs, New York - Today to celebrate our 23rd Wedding Anniversary we headed east again. This trip was to Saratoga Springs to see two excellent bands perform together, Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on their Heart And Soul Tour. We checked in at our hotel just north of Saratoga as it was also the day of the Travers. We stopped at Saratoga Casino and Raceway for a quick gambling fix, then off for a quick bite to eat then off to the show. I purchased meet and greet tickets for Deb to meet Earth Wind and Fire, one of her favorites, prior to the show. We had tickets in the third row and the concert was excellent. It opened with both bands performing a great set together starting with Beginnings. After they all played several numbers, Earth Wind and Fire did a full solo set that was very good. After that Chicago came out and did a full set that was also great. Finally Earth Wind and Fire joined them and they had a great finale playing 25 or 6 to 4. A really great show. The next day we headed up to Lake George and took a nice steamboat tour of the lake with the Lake George Steamboat Company on their paddlewheel boat the Minne Ha Ha. This was a nice weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary.Slideshow |
