South Florida Getaway To Watch The Da Bills Squish The Fish

9/25/2015 - Fort Lauderdale, Florida - The day started early today heading to Rochester International Airport to catch a plane to Fort Lauderdale Florida to watch the Buffalo Bills take on the Miami Dolphins and celebrate my brother Mike's birthday. We flew Rochester to Newark to Fort Lauderdale with no problems. We arrived early afternoon and our rooms were not ready so we had a nice lunch at Coconuts Waterside. After lunch we headed back to the hotel, the Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Beach, and checked into our awesome oceanfront panoramic view corner rooms. The room provided fantastic views of the ocean, beach and inter coastal allowing us to watch the cruise ships leave port. The pool unfortunately was closed for repairs so we hit the beach for sun and surf. We also swam laps in the International Swimming Hall Of Fame pools located next to our hotel. We had some more beach fun renting some jet skis and had a blast cruising the ocean waves. We started the evening with a nice dinner at Spazio and partied with Buffalo and Miami fans at the Drunken Taco and Elbo Room down on Fort Lauderdale Beach. On gameday we had a nice breakfast at St Bart Café right on the beachfront. After we relaxed a bit and then headed to Sun Life Stadiun to watch the Bills destroy the Dolphins by a score of 41 to 14. The Bills defense scored, caused numerous turnovers and were helped by an inept Miami offense. The Bills offense also played well with Tyrod Taylor throwing three touchdowns. A great win to help celebrate Mike's birthday and we even received Dolphin banners and a commemorative coin to remember it by. Post game, we had a nice dinner at the Quarterdeck to celebrate Mike's birthday. After our late dinner we headed to the Elbo Room for drinks and to take in the lunar eclipse and blood moon from the beach. An excellent day indeed. The next day we had a nice breakfast again at St Barts Café and walked the beach. We headed to the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood for some blackjack prior to catching our flight from Fort Lauderdale to Charlotte to Rochester. A really great long weekend that we may need to repeat next year. Slideshow
