10/3/2017 - Toronto, Canada - In a last minute decision, I decided to head north of the border to Toronto, Canada to see the legendary classic rock artist Roger Waters on his Us + Them tour. Took a half day off work and left early with no ticket to head to Toronto. There was zero delay at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge border crossing but I ran into a major traffic jam due to an accident on the QEW that delayed me an hour and a half. I drove to Kipling and picked up the TTC into Air Canada Centre. I had no ticket and went to the box office and picked up a great ticket side stage. The show was not a sellout but pretty close. Roger opened promptly and played a fantastic set of Pink Floyd classics. He opened with Breathe and One of These Days. He continued with classic after classic like Great Gig In The Sky that featured a brilliant vocal performance by Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, Wish You Were Here and Another Brick In The Wall to close the first set. Second set got heavy with Dogs, Pigs and Money. It included some shots at Trump. The huge arena wide screens were impressive and the sound was excellent. He closed the second set with Brain Damage and a laser light filled Eclipse. Dave Kilminster was featured on lead guitar and did an excellent job on the acoustic and electric. Roger and band came out for two encores Mother and the finale of Comfortably Numb. A great show definitely worth the trip.Slideshow |
