Sabres Celebrate 40th Anniversary And Clinch Playoff Spot

4/8/2011 - Buffalo, New York - Today we attended an excellent hockey game at HSBC Arena in downtown Buffalo. The Buffalo Sabres clinched a playoff spot by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers by a score of 4-3 winning on an overtime goal by Thomas Vanek. Nathan Gerbe scored in the third period to tie it and send the game into overtime. Prior to the game, new owner Terry Pegula invited every single Sabre alumni that played for the team to the game to celebrate the Sabres 40th Anniversary as an NHL franchise. The list of players on hand was impressive just to name a few Sabres greats in attendance included, Perreault, Robert, Crozier, Lafontaine, Luce, Gare, Housely, Desjardin, Puppa, Korab, and many many more. To top it all off Dom got on the big screen at the game with Sabretooth and some rabid Lafontaine fans. Another excellent night of Sabres hockey.Slideshow
