Trip Down The Niagara River On The Black Pearl

8/21/2011 - Lewiston, New York - Today we journeyed to the port of Lewiston, New York but this time it was not for a free concert but to sail the Niagara River on the tall ship the Black Pearl. Surprisingly the weather held off as we left the heavy thunderstorms in Lockport to find the sun trying to peak thru the clouds for our trip. The ship cruised the lower Niagara River with nice views of historic and interesting facts of the area provided by a Lewiston historian who was onboard. The ship was impressive being 73 feet long and 68 feet high and it can hoist up to 13 sails. After the trip we enjoyed a nice dinner with Grandma Apple at Apple Granny's restaurant. A nice time was had by all.Slideshow
