Steve Miller Band Flies Like And Eagle At Artpark

7/31/2012 - Lewiston, New York - The classic rock band the Steve Miller Band was the feature act at Tuesday In The Park at Artpark in Lewiston, New York. The show sold out and we arrived early to get a good spot. The weather forecast was looking for rain and we had some while waiting in line to get in and missed the massive storms. The opening band was the local guitar talents of the Jamie Holka Trio that was reduced to a duo. Jamie played his Gibson large body pretty well jamming Zeppelin and Pink Floyd covers in his guitar tapping style. He was good but had a better performance when he opened for Robert Cray earlier this year at the Tralf. The Steve Miller Band came on promptly at 8PM and wasted no time kicking into an excellent set, opening with Jungle Love. He played a little bit of everything including his hits such as Take The Money And Run, Serenade, Living In The USA, Jet Airliner and finishing the set with Rock N Me. He also played a great cover of the blues song Further On Up The Road and also played a couple good acoustic deep cuts. The band came out and played three encores including Swingtown, Space Cowboy and finishing with the Joker. Steve showed his skill as a guitarist and his band were solid all the way around. This was an excellent show, definitely Artpark's best this year.Slideshow
