Switzerland Travel Log - Lugano, Switzerland |

 9/11/2019 - Lugano, Switzerland - Today we were up early to journey from our home base of Bellagio to Lugano, Switzerland for a day trip. We started early at the Hotel Du Lac in Bellagio catching the ferry from Bellagio to Menaggio. Then a three quarter mile walk thru Menaggio to the bus station to take a bus ride from Menaggio to Lugano. A nice hour ride that provided some nice views taking us along the edge of Lake Lugano. We were dropped at the train station and headed into the town of Lugano. First stop was the gorgeous Cattedrale San Lorenzo and then a stop at Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli. We walked down to Via Nassa and did some shopping in the many nice shops and then strolled along the scenic Parco Civico for nice views of the lake and waterfront. We decided to rent a paddle boat on this gorgeous day and got some exercise with our nice views of Lugano. After, we made a quick stop to Casinò Lugano but did not lay down any action. We walked the gorgeous streets exploring and then finally caught the bus back to Menaggio and then the ferry back to home base, Bellagio. A nice day trip to sneak into Switzerland for the day.Slideshow | |
