1/31/2025 - Niagara Falls, Canada - Today, we snuck out of work early on this wintery Friday and headed north of the border to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Canada to the see former Alice In Chain's leadman Jerry Cantrell. We left early and got to the Rainbow Bridge where there were zero cars at the Canada boarder crossing a first for me! A winter storm had moved in quickly and brought down snow and ice making it difficult to get up the hill to the casino. It took two tries wheels spinning with us barely making it. Deb picked up our comp tickets, which were far back right stage still a good view, not a bad seat in the OLG Stage venue. We did some gaming prior to the show start and I won a few bucks playing video poker and roulette. We grabbed some Timmy Hoes and headed to the show. The show appeared to be a sellout of just the lower bowl. The opening act was the rock band Filter. They did a heavy 45 minute set of rock. They we were well received by the sellout OLG Stage crowd. After a brief intermission, Jerry Cantrell and his band hit the stage and played a great set. This show was the opening show of his tour for his fourth solo album I Want Blood. He played several songs from that album including I Want Blood and Off The Rails. Cantrell also played five Alice in Chains songs including Them Bones, Down In A Hole and a set-closing Rooster. He performed Hate to Feel, from 1992’s Dirt, for the first time in over 30 years. His band was pretty tight and the sellout crowd was definitely entertained. This was another great comp show from Fallsview Casino at an excellent venue, keep them coming ! Slideshow |
