Obituary: Margaret M. Bauer (81)

12/23/1999 - East Aurora, New York - Margaret M. Bauer, 81, who was active in religious work, died Thursday (Dec. 23, 1999) in Aurora Park Health Care Center, East Aurora. Born Margaret Moran on June 18th 1918 in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy. She lived in East Aurora and was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Orchard Park and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Eucharistic Adoration Society. She was a member of Catholics United for the Faith and past member of St. John Vianney Seniors. She provided a home for her husband's cousin, the Rev. Charles Schneider, a missionary priest, on his semiannual visits to Western New York from Ghana. She taught religious education to first-graders at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in East Aurora. A former employee of the Buffalo Athletic Club and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, she also was licensed to sell general insurance and real estate. Her chief interests were her faith and her family, and her hobbies included reading and golf. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Frank; a daughter, Geraldine Stafford of Lockport; two sons, Frank W. of Cheektowaga and William E. of West Seneca; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the F.E. BROWN SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., E. Quaker St. (Rte. 20A), Orchard Park. Services from the Funeral Home Wednesday 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Nativity of Our Lord Church at 9:30 AM. Friends invited.
