4/17/2009 - Maui, Hawaii - The return journey to our favorite vacation spot in the world, Maui, started early Friday morning at Rochester International Airport. The long trip started in Rochester, then to Chicago, then on to San Francisco and finally arriving in Maui Hawaii some thirteen hours later. Fortunately all the flights were ahead of schedule making the trip somewhat smooth. Maui was all we have come to know, beautiful weather, great beaches, gorgeous sunsets, and just the most relaxing place on the earth in my opinion. We arrived late day at our two bedroom oceanview condo at Kaanapali Shores which offered a nice view of the Pacific Ocean we have come to love. We eased into are first day eating a much needed dinner at the Beach Club, taking in a tremendous sunset, and finally we enjoyed a late night swim in the pool and hot tub. The next morning off to breakfast at Moose McGillicuddys in Lahaina. We then wasted no time exploring the south west coast including hanging in the town of Lahaina. We went all the way to Kahakuloa Head and drove past where the regular road ran out, then back to Nakalele Point to climb down the mountain side to get and up close view of Nakalele Blowhole. We stopped at a couple of beaches along the way with the DT Fleming Beach Park being the nicest in the area. Finally back to the condo for swimming and drinks at Kaanapali Shore's ocean front pool then down to Lahaina for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, then hanging in Lahaina and taking in another awesome sunset. Nice start to the vacation, much more to come. Part 2
