Last Minute Winter Getaway To Watch Sabres and Hurricanes

1/25/2013 - Buffalo, New York - In a last minute decision to beat the winter blahs, Dom and I decided to take a short roadtrip to downtown Buffalo, New York to watch the Buffalo Sabres take on the Carolina Hurricanes at First Niagara Center. I jumped on Stubhub.com and picked up two tickets at center ice just a couple hours before the game at a decent price. We hit the road and stopped for dinner at the home of the original Buffalo Wing the Anchor Bar for some excellent pizza and wings then onto the game. The tickets we purchased were excellent right at center ice about fifteen rows up and Dom managed to get a photobomb moment on the scoreboard. The Sabres played well for the first two periods playing the Canes to a scoreless tie when just into the third Thomas Vanek scored the games first goal to give Buffalo the lead. The Hurricanes came right back and scored three unanswered goals to hand the Sabres a 3-1 loss. Although the Sabres lost it was a good evening of entertainment.Slideshow
