8/27/2013 - Lewiston, New York - Today was the final show of the 2013 Artpark Tuesday In The Park series, the headliner for this show that Lil Ole Band From Texas thats right ZZ Top. This show was soldout a couple weeks ago. We left early and made the quick dinner stop at Reids. We arrived in Lewiston almost an hour and half early so we stopped at the Lewiston Music Store. The small store had a decent collection of guitars for a small store including three lefties. After playing a few guitars we headed to Artpark and found the lines pretty large but we were able to get a decent spot despite the lines. The weather was a factor for this one with rain threatening all night. It rained lightly but did not rain the show out. The opening band was a band from Canada who were very good called The Sheepdogs. ZZ Top followed shortly after the opener and played a good but somewhat short set. They opened with Got Me Under Pressure and played many classics including Waitin' For The Bus, Jesus Just Left Chicago and My Head's In Mississippi to name a few. They did a nice cover of Hendrix's Foxy Lady. They played some new stuff from their new album Futura and finished the set with Legs. They came out for two separate encores. The first one had Tube Snake Boogie and La Grange / Sloppy Drunk Jam and Tush. The second and final encore was a surprising cover of an Elvis song Jailhouse Rock. The trio still entertains and the sound was very good. This was a good show maybe not the best I have seen by the trio but still a good show. Thanks Artpark can not wait til next year !Slideshow |
