 6/22/1976 - Lockport, New York - Nicolo DeFilippo (aka Nicola DeFilippo) was born on Sunday December 4,1892 in Frosolene, Italy the second of three children for Dominick (b1870) and Mary (b1872) DeFilippo. Nicolo came to America on the ship, Oceania, from the port of Napoli, Italy arriving at Ellis Island on December 5th, 1911. He settled in Emporium, PA and there married Lena Ruberto having two children Dominick and Angelo DeFilippo. He moved to Lockport, New York in the early 1920's living at 6 Bright Street and had seven more children there Nicholas, John (Benny) and Loren DeFilippo and four daughters Mary DeFilippo, Virginia Rising, Ellen Anterline and Frances Florio. His wife died in 1948 at the age of 48. He later married his wife's sister Frances Ruberto. He was predeceased by his two brothers Costanzo (1886-1921) and Antonio "Tony" DeFilippo (1896-1959).
