Surf Guitar Legend Dick Dale Jams At Water Street Music Hall

7/13/2012 - Rochester, New York - The Water Street Music Hall in downtown Rochester, New York was the stage today on lucky Friday the 13th for the legendary guitar talents of Dick Dale. The opening band was a local Rochester intstrumental trio called the The Tombstone Hands. They played an awesome set which included plenty of classic surf rock including covers of Link Wray stuff and others. A perfect opener for the likes of Dick Dale. Dick Dale came on stage and played an awesome set. His son Jimmy Dale played drums and the bass player was full of energy jumping around the stage like a wild man. Dick Dale played a little bit of everything including Riders In The Sky, Rumble and Pipeline to name a few. He is truly a legend of guitar having worked with Leo Fender to actually help create the amps and guitars we use today. He is one of the few who plays a right handed guitar left handed. He finished with an encore of his classic song Misirlou. At seventy-five years old he proved undoubtedly that he could still jam including playing a drum solo with his son and a bass solo using drum sticks. A great show!Slideshow
