Thorogood Wows Crowd At Lockport Canal Concert Series

8/10/2012 - Lockport, New York - The slide guitar blues rock of George Thorogood and The Destroyers rocked the house at the Labatts Canal Concert Series in downtown Lockport, New York today. The forecast called for rain all night but not a drop fell as it was an evening of great rock from George and local artists. We were in the VIP area and grabbed a spot front row and center there and were joined by the whole Florio clan including mom also an avid George fan. The show started early with Jim Crean Band followed by the Bruce Wojick Band who were both pretty good. Then opening for George was the Tom Hambridge Band who put on a good set that was well received by the large crowd. George and the Destroyers then came on stage and opened with Rock Party. George had a mixed setlist of his classic blues stuff and some of his more contemparary hits. This included such songs as One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer, Who Do You Love and a nice tribute to Johnny Cash with some Cocaine Blues. George really appeared to be into it enjoying the raucus Lockport crowd that loved every minute of this show. George finished with Move It On Over and came out for three encores finishing with Born To Be Bad. This was an excellent show.Slideshow
