Rolling Stones Bring Zip Code Tour To Ralph Wilson Stadium |

 7/11/2015 - Orchard Park, New York - Today was the concert event of the summer in the Buffalo area, the Rolling Stones returned to Orchard Park to play at Ralph Wilson Stadium for the first time in over 18 years. We left early for this one stopping for a nice seafood dinner at Red Lobster in Amherst. We were the only people in the restaurant on this Saturday due to the fire down the street blocking access to customers and employees. After dinner we headed to the Ralph and the parking lots were packed as everyone was tailgating for this one. We hooked up with the other Florio's, Mike and Dee for a little preconcert festivities. We then headed in to check out the opening act St. Paul and The Broken Bones who were really not that great a surprising choice to open for the Stones. After a brief intermission the sellout crowd was entertained by a preconcert video ending with Buffalo 14127 this stop on the Stones Zip Code Tour. Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie hit the huge stage and played a tremendous set to the sellout Buffalo crowd. They opened with Jumpin' Jack Flash and played hit after hit from their large library. Mick jumped around the stage like it was 1981 and Keith and Ronnie didn't appear to miss a beat. They played classics like Tumbling Dice, Wild Horses, Honky Tonk Women and Before They Make Me Run to name a few. The stage was impressive with three huge screens and a runway 50 yards long that Mick ran up and down. They did a great job on Gimme Shelter, and played the fan requested Let's Spend The Night Together and closed the set with Brown Sugar. They came out for two encores the first being You Can't Always Get What You Want accompanied by the local Calvary Episcopal Church Choir. They closed the show with I Can't Get No Satisfaction and a fantastic fireworks display to top it off. This show was really great and it is scary that these guys can perform like this at there age, I guess will see them in 18 more years.Slideshow | |
