Joe Bonamassa Brings The Blues To State Theatre of Ithaca

11/16/2017 - Ithaca, New York - Today, I headed east to the lovely town of Ithaca, New York to see the guitar virtuoso Joe Bonamassa jam at the State Theatre of Ithaca. I arrived right on time and stopped at will call and picked up my excellent ticket center stage five rows back. It was a sellout crowd and the State Theatre of Ithaca is a gorgeous venue. There was no opening act and Bonamassa and his band hit the stage promptly at 8pm and played a great set. His band was pretty tight and they jammed for over two hours playing many original and several blues covers. He played tunes like No Good Place for the Lonely with an awesome guitar solo, Slow Train and closed the set with a couple Led Zeppelin covers including Boogie With Stu and an extended jam on How Many More Times. Bonamassa showed off his guitar skills on each tune with great solos and finished the show with a cover of Leon Russell's Hummingbird. A great show that was well worth the trip.Slideshow
