Big Apple Sites And Night Two Of Clapton At MSG

10/7/2018 - New York, New York - The second day of our New York City weekend started with a good breakfast at our hotel the Holiday Inn Express Times Square. It was a beautiful warm October day and we took the subway uptown to Central Park. We wandered the park on this gorgeous day stopping at our favorite spot Strawberry Fields. We then hopped on the subway downtown to One World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial. We then decided to take the Staten Island Ferry to get some nice views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. We then headed to Times Square and had a nice lobster dinner at Red Lobster. The time had now come to head back to Madison Square Garden for night two of Eric Clapton. I picked up a decent seat at the last minute tremendously discounted and headed into the Garden. The show again started promptly at 7:30 with Jimmie Vaughan opening with a similar set. He was followed by Gary Clark Jr and then Clapton. The show setlist was the same as the prior night with Clapton being backed up by Doyle Bramhall II. Eric played a little more lead this evening and seemed a little sharper playing classics like I Shot The Sheriff and Key To The Highway. It again included the acoustic set featuring Layla and Tears In Heaven. The final number was of course Cocaine. The single encore was a cover of Joe Cocker's High Time We Went with solo jams by everyone. Another good show and nice weekend had in the big city, I am certain we will be back.Slideshow
