Relaxing Last Day In London Doing The Tourist Thing

5/24/2023 - London, England - After two days of awesome sites and shows at the Royal Albert Hall, we decided to relax a bit today and take the hop on, hop off, bus tour of London. We slept in a bit at our nice suite at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel and then headed down the Queens Walk for another good breakfast on the River Thames. We took in our daily dose of the Westminster area including Big Ben and Parliament. We then hopped on the Red Bus run by City Sightseeing London. The day was perfect weatherwise, sunny and warm allowing us to sit up top on the open top tour bus and take in all London has to offer. The bus took us over London Bridge past St Paul's Cathedral up close and thru the Financial District and also passing the largest building in London, The Shard. We jumped off and took in nice views of Tower Bridge, Tower of London and the unique City Hall, London. We circled back for some different nice views of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Parliament. We drove by Green Park and Hyde Park stopping at the Marble Arch. We then stopped at Piccadilly Circus and decided to have a decent steak dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe at Piccadily Circus. We then hopped back on the bus and passed by Trafalgar Square and The National Gallery finally heading back to Westminster. A nice day to do the tourist thing. We stopped by Big Ben and bought some sovieniers and took some last shots of Big Ben and Westminster area. We were then back at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel to pack up our stuff and get ready to catch our early morning flight back home. We were up early and caught the train from Westminster Station to Heathrow Terminal 5 with only one change and that took us about an hour. We got thru security painlessly not having to check luggage and had a nice breakfast at the airport, then jumped on our British Airways flight to Chicago. We were fortunate to have an empty seat next to us that made the long journey all the more comfortable. We made it thru customs in Chicago and just made our connecting flight to Toronto having to traverse Chicago airport. We arrived back in Toronto ontime, got the rubber stamp thru customs, and then drove from Toronto to finally get back to home. Another excellent adventure in the books. We will be back.... Slideshow
