 8/24/1948 - Lockport, New York - Lena E. (Ruberto) DeFilippo of 6 Bright Street in Lockport, New York passed away today on Tuesday August 24, 1948 at the age of 48. Lena was born on Saturday February 24, 1900 in Emporium, Pennsylvania to her parents Angelo and Francesca (D'Apolito) Ruberto. She married Nicolo DeFilippo and had two children in Emporium, Dominick and Angelo. They moved to Lockport, New York in the early 1920's and had seven more children, sons Nicholas, John and Loren DeFilippo and four daughters Mary DeFilippo, Virginia Rising, Ellen Anterline and Frances Florio. She is survived by her husband, Nicolo; her five sons, Dominick, Angelo, S/Sergt. Nicholas, U.S. Army, Seaman 1/c John, U.S.N., and Loren; four daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Virginia) Rising, Mary, Ellen and Frances DeFilippo; four sisters, Mrs. Peter Cerminaro, Utica; Mrs. Ross Provenza and Mrs. Francis Hallinen, Emporium, Pa; Mrs. Michael Mangione, Buffalo; seven brothers, Anthony, Angelo, John, William, Vito and Peter Ruberto, all of Emporium, and Lewis Ruberto, Buffalo; and three grandchildren, Dominick DeFilippo Jr, Cheryl Rising and Lynne Rising. Funeral will be held Friday morning from the family residence, 6 Bright St, at 8:45 and St. Anthony's Church at 9:30. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Slideshow |
