 4/15/2014 - Maui, Hawaii - Today we said Aloha to the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on the Big Island and headed to Kona International Airport to catch are Hawaiian Airlines flight from the Big Island to our home away from home Maui. We arrived at Kahalui Airport in the early afternoon and stopped at the super Walmart and Krispy Kremes to pick up supplies for the stay. We drove across Maui to our ocean view condo at Kaanapali Shores and were greeted by a couple of rainbows. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Beach Club. We chilled by the ocean front pool and hot tub took in the sunset. The first full day on Maui started with the early morning beach walk watching the sunrise over Maui, Lanai and Molakai. We then headed to Lahaina to take in our first whale watch with Pacific Whale Foundation. We headed out on the Ocean Discovery ship and encountered many whales as usual. We tracked a mother and baby humpback for very up close views of tail splashing and fin splashing. It also included the beautiful panoramic views of the island of Maui, still my favorite thing to do in Maui. We headed back to the condo for swimming, chilling, hottubbing and drinks by the ocean. We took in a nice sunset and then headed back to Lahaina for a late dinner at Bubba Gumps. Another great Maui day. 1 2 3 5 6 7Slideshow |
