Ringo Starr And His All Starrs Beat The Rain At Artpark |

 6/24/2014 - Lewiston, New York - The Artpark Tuesday In The Park series continued for us today this time another great performer tonight the one and only Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band. We left very early for this one knowing the show was sold out. The usual routine stopping in Lockport at Reids for an early dinner, then onto Lewiston where we made a brief stop to check out some guitars at Lewiston Music. We found are spot in the line over an hour early and encountered huge lines. Weather would prove to be a factor for this one as we got into Artpark and managed to get our normal spot. The opening act came out promptly at 6:30, it was NYC group called Andy Suzuki and The Method. They were not that good and we were surprised they were the opener. After a brief intermission Ringo appeared ready to take the stage but the skies opened and it poured rain and thunder and lightning. Artpark reps came out and advised people to take shelter til the lightning passed. After about a half hour the rain subsided and Ringo and his band made it to the stage. He played a great diverse set of hits of his own and from all the All Starrs. Todd Rundgren played I Saw The Light, the Utopia classic Love Is The Answer and the raucous Bang On The Drum All Day. Greg Rolie added some nice Santana covers like Oye Como Va, Evil Ways and Black Magic Woman with the assistance of Steve Lukhather jamming on guitar. Lukather added some nice Toto covers of Rosanna and Africa. Ringo played many of his classics including It Don't Come Easy, I Wanna Be Your Man, Don't Pass Me By and the classic Yellow Submarine. The band was very tight and the show more entertaining than the show at CMAC where we saw them two weeks prior. Although the rain postponed this show and came back near the end the crowd was thoroughly entertained. A great show enjoyed by all thanks Ringo and Artpark.... Slideshow | |
