 2/27/2015 - Niagara Falls,Ontario - Today we headed north of the border to Niagara Falls, Canada for a little rest and relaxation to celebrate my fiftieth birthday. Deb procured an excellent overnight deal with a suite at the Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. We started out with an early dinner at one of Deb's favorite spots the Swiss Chalet. After the Chalet fix, we then checked in to our hotel and were upgraded to a Jacuzzi suite with a fantastic panoramic view of both the American and Horseshoe Falls. The night lights and fact that the falls were almost completely frozen provided really great views. We went out and had a few drinks compliments of the hotel and headed to Fallsview Casino for some gambling that included some free play as part of our hotel deal. Unfortunately we both had little luck at the casino but we played for quite a while and had fun. We had some late night Starbucks to warm us up from the frigid temps that was also included in the hotel deal. The next morning we enjoyed the free breakfast that was part of the deal that included excellent made to order omlettes that were delish. We checked out and braved the cold and got some decent pictures of the frozen falls. A nice little enjoyable inexpensive little getaway to celebrate my fiftieth, thanks Deb!Slideshow |
