Scott Weiland And Wildabouts Rock Water Street Music Hall

5/8/2015 - Rochester, New York - Another day another free concert compliments of Deb the contest queen, todays free ticket Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts live at the Water Street Music Hall. We headed down early and took in the two opening bands who were not that great just okay I can not even recall there names. A lot of controversy follows the former Stone Temple Pilots lead singer on his career as past shows show the singer performing pretty badly. Reports of alcoholism and drug use have plagued him so the very small Water Street Music Hall crowd was not sure what to expect. Scott hit the stage and opened with Crackerman which was pretty good. He appeared on this night to be in good shape and played a good set of solo stuff and some excellent STP stuff. He started slow but as he moved thru his set he and his band the Wildabouts sounded better and better. They did good modified tempo versions of Vasoline and Dead and Bloated. They stopped in the middle of the David Bowie cover Jean Jeanie as one of the crowd was ejected for an over zealous bit of moshing. The band complained to security saying she was just enjoying the music. They came out for a two song encore that included Circles and excellent jam on Unglued. The very small crowd was treated to a good show by the ex STP frontman, so either we were lucky or Scott is getting better and over his problems. Thanks Deb for another freebie and Water Street for bringing good acts to the small venues keep them coming.Slideshow
