Yeehaw Free Country Show With Tim McGraw At Darien Lake

7/30/2015 - Corfu, New York - Today we headed west to Darien Lake Performing Arts Center for a first for us, our first ever country concert to see Tim McGraw. Deb entered me in a contest and I was picked as one of nineteen to participate in September to win a brand new Ford F-150 truck. The prize also included tickets to the Tim McGraw concert sitting in the back of a Ford pickup right next to the stage. We can not get much more country than that. We decided to go since we would get the VIP treatment and sitting in the truck next to the stage was pretty cool. The opener was a left handed guitarist named Chase Bryant who did an okay set. The next act was Billy Currington and the country jams let loose. After a brief intermission Tim McGraw hit the stage and the sellout crowd went crazy. He played a typical set compared with his other shows. It included an encore cover of Elton John's Tiny Dancer which was the only song I knew. During the show he was joined on stage with Jim Kelly who was his long time friend. Jim came out an addressed the crowd and threw some footballs out. The roar of the crowd for Kelly was deafening. We can cross this off our bucket list as country is just not my scene. We will be back in September to try and win the truck, one in nineteen is a good chance..Slideshow
