J Geils Band Closes Out 2015 Artpark Concert Season

9/8/2015 - Lewiston, New York - Today we headed West for the final Artpark Tuesday in the Park concert series' concert of the 2015 season, tonight's artist the blues sounds of the J Geils Band. We arrived a little late but found a small crowd and had plenty of room, this show was not a sellout. The opening band for the show was Ian Hunter and the Rant Band. They came out and did a great set that included Ian Hunter hits like Once Bitten Twice Shy, All The Way To Memphis and closed out the set with a cover of Mott The Hoople's All The Young Dudes. A good opening act. Soon after the J Geils Band hit the stage and did a great set of classics. It included songs like Give It To Me, Sanctuary and Southside Shuffle. They did a decent cover of the Strangelove's Night Time not quite as good as Thorogood but still pretty good. They finished the set with Magic Dick jamming on Whammer Jammer and Peter Wolf jumped around and got the crowd going for the final number of the set Ain't Nothin' But A House Party. They came out and played a three song encore that included Start All Over Again and finishing with Must Of Got Lost. A good finish to a decent concert season at Artpark, lets hope they can pull in some more good acts next year. Slideshow
