Sammy Hagar & The Circle Open Artpark 2019 Concert Season |

 6/4/2019 - Lewiston, New York - In what was a last minute decision, I decided to take a day off work and head up to Artpark in Lewiston, New York to see Sammy Hagar & The Circle open up the 2109 Tuesday In The Park Concert Series. I headed up early and spent some time playing poker at Seneca Niagara Casino only placing seventh in the tournament just outside the money. I then had lunch at Reids and then headed to Artpark. I managed to get a GA Bowl ticket even though they were sold-out prior. I arrived early to smaller than expected lines and got a great spot. It turned out to be a perfect evening weather wise mid 60's and no rain. Night Ranger opened the show promptly at 6:30 and played a really good set that was well received by the Artpark crowd. Opening with You Can Still Rock In America and other hits like High Enough and Sister Christian. They finished with Don't Tell Me You Love Me with some Deep Purple Highway Star mixed in. Again a good set that sounded better than I thought they would. After a short break Sammy and his band the Circle hit the stage and played a great set. The band loaded with talent including Mike Anthony on bass, the broken leg tied to the chair Vic Johnson on lead guitar and Jason Bonham on drums. They played new and old tunes from every era and band including plenty of Hagar, Van Halen, Montrose, and Zeppelin. They jammed hits like There's Only One Way To Rock, Rock Candy, Three Lock Box and Rock And Roll. A good show that included Sammy putting on a number 55 Hagar Sabres jersey from a fan and asking for a garbage plate along with the Nik Tahous shirt he got. They finished the show with some Van Halen Best of Both Worlds. Again a great show to open the Artpark 2019 Concert season. Slideshow | |
