Last Day In London Closes With Sir Paul McCartney At The O2

5/24/2015 - London, England - Today was our final full day in London and we started early trying to squeeze as much in as possible. We started again with views of Big Ben and a nice breakfast right down the Queen's Walk near the London's Eye. We hopped on the Tube and headed to Trafalgar Square taking in the fantastic views of the city and Big Ben while being entertained by the many street performers. We took a quick tour of The National Gallery that was absolutely fantastic. We saw beautiful and famous paintings from famous artists like Guido Reni, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Vincent van Gogh. We only scratched the surface of this gallery, we then walked down to Leicester Square and on to Picadilly Circus. We caught the Tube here and headed east again to North Greenwich. From North Greenwich we hopped on a bus and headed to Greenwich Village. We walked up the hill taking in views of the Royal Maritime Museum and Queen's House to the Royal Observatory Greenwich. This also provided nice panoramic views of the city of London. Here we traversed the Prime Meridian being in the Eastern and Western Hemisphere simultaneously. We hopped back on the bus and headed back to North Greenwich to the O2 Arena. We had a nice steak dinner and then headed to the O2 Arena to see the final show of our trip Sir Paul McCartney on his Out There Tour. Paul came out and played his typical ridiculously awesome three hour set. He opened with Eight Days A Week and played non stop Beatles, Wings and cover songs. His set included classics like Eleanor Rigby, Yesterday, The Long And Winding Road and Something a tribute to George. After the massive set he came out and played two sets of encores that included songs like Another Girl, Hi Hi Hi, Golden Slumbers and finishing with The End to name a few. A great concert that helped to conclude a fantastic trip. Afterwards we were back on the Tube headed back to the hotel and were detoured having to walk around the shooting of the latest James Bond film taking place directly in front of Big Ben and Parliament right in front of our hotel for the second night in a row. The next morning we were up early and packed catching the long Tube ride back to Heathrow Airport where we had a delicious Blueberry pancake breakfast. We exchanged our remaining pounds and caught the Air Canada flight back to Ottawa then on to Toronto. A most excellent concert adventure completed that can be summed up in one word AWESOME just AWESOME.... 1 2 3 4 Slideshow
