Emmett & Dunlop Triumph Acoustic Jam At Seneca Queen Theatre

11/11/2017 - Niagara Falls, Canada - I headed just north of the border today into Niagara Falls, Canada to see one of my favorite artists Rik Emmett perform an evening of acoustic jams at the little known Seneca Queen Theatre. I stopped at Seneca Niagara Casino for a little gaming action and had a decent steak dinner at TGIFridays on the American side then headed across the border to the show. I was a little early and stopped at the Grand Central Sports Bar to have a couple beers and watch some of the Sabres game before the show. I headed to the little theatre just across the street and Rik Emmett joined by Dave Dunlop came out and did a great acoustic set. Rik performed numerous Triumph songs opening with Hold On and playing classics like Lay It On The Line, Ordinary Man and closing the first set with Fight The Good Fight. He provided many entertaining stories including the unfairness of Paul McCartney being able to play three hour sets without a break or drink and being 10 years older than him. He then played a funny parody of the Beatle's song When I'm Sixty-Four renaming it Now I'm Sixty-Four. The second set included more Triumph like Somebody's Out There and closing with Magic Power. Rik payed tribute to Tom Petty getting the crowd to sing along with Free Fallin' and did a good cover of Joe Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way. A great evening of entertainment that showed Rik still has guitar skills and can play. It never gets old for me.Slideshow
