Ringo And His All Starr Band Return To CMAC 30 Years Later |

5/30/2022 - Canandaigua, New York - Today, we celebrated Memorial Day by returning to the scene of the crime from thirty years ago the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (or CMAC) in Canandaigua, New York, to see the always entertaining Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band perform again! We were here thirty years prior, the week of our wedding in August of 1992, to see Ringo's band perform a great show with a totally different lineup that included the likes of Joe Walsh, Todd Rundgren and Burton Cummings to name a few. I was only able to pick up a couple tickets for tonight's show in the back section because the show was sold out and tickets were tough to get but we had to attend. Ringo had a diverse lineup of All Starrs for this show and performed a great set. The first was Edgar Winter who brought the rock portion of the show playing a nice tribute to his late brother Johnny with a cover of Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode. He also did an excellent jam on his hit, Frankenstein, that included a nice drum solo by Greg Bissonette. Steve Lukather provided the majoirty of the lead guitar for the show and jammed a couple Toto hit's into the set like Rosanna and Hold The Line. Hamish Stuart, an original in Average White Band, provided some AWB jams on Pick Up The Pieces and Cut The Cake. Colin Hay, leader of Men At Work, provided the classics Down Under and Who Can Be It Now? Ringo played drums for most but not all of the set and was assisted by Greg Bissonette on the drums. The eighty-one year old Ringo entertained like only he can with his classics like Photograph, Yellow Submarine, I Wanna Be Your Man and It Don't Come Easy. He came out for a single encore of With A Little Help From My Friends with some Give Peace A Chance added in. A great show that lasted the test of time for thirty years, everyone in the audience was still entertained by Ringo with his messages of Fun, Peace and Love !
