McDonald Joins Doobie Brothers For 50th Anniversary Tour |

 6/18/2022 - Corfu, New York - Today, in a last minute decision, I decided to head West down Route 33 to Route 77 into Corfu, New York to see the classic rock of The Doobie Brothers along with Michael McDonald perform at Darien Lake PAC on their 50th Anniversary Tour. It was almost 33 years ago to the day that I saw McDonald and the Doobies on their reunion tour at the Aud in Buffalo. I scored an excellent seat fourth row dead center stage and two empty seats in front of me for excellent up close views. It was a nice cool Upstate New York evening and the band came out at 8PM to play a great two hour set of classics. Michael McDonald took the helm for classics like Here To Love You and It Keeps You Runnin'. Pat Simmons took the lead on South City Midnight Lady and the jammed filled Dependin' On You with help from Tom Johnston and John McFee. Tom Johnston took the lead on Without You and the drum filled jam on Long Train Runnin'. They closed the set with China Grove. They showed they are still a powerful band and with McDonald they go to the next level. They came out for a three song encore that included Black Water, Takin' It To The Streets and finishing the show with Listen To The Music. This was a great show and being pratically front row made it even better, glad to see them still bringing it.Slideshow | |
