Ted Nugent Puts The Stanglehold On Riviera Theatre In NT

8/15/2022 - North Tonawanda, New York - We waited over two years but today we finally got to see the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, perform at the lovely Riviera Theatre in downtown North Tonawanda, New York on his Detroit Muscle Tour 2022. We purchased the tickets for this show over two years ago and it was postponed due to Covid issues. We had great seats ten rows back dead center for this sold out show, which was his second since he played here the day prior. The opener was Rick Monroe and the Hitman, who did a great set of country rock that included good vocals and screaming guitar. Monroe could easily be mistaken for Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, we joked the country Dave Grohl. Soon after, Ted and his trio hit the stage made up of Greg Smith on bass and Jason Hartless on drums. They did a raucous but short set of Nugent hits. The show opened with Ted and company jamming on The Star Spangled Banner as only Ted can. Ted's political commentary filled in between the classics like Cat Scratch Fever, Hey Baby and Free For All. The crowd enjoyed his latest song Come And Take It with him bashing the president with choruses of F**k Joe Biden. Since the band was a trio the 74 year old Nugent played all the lead and did a great job. He closed the set with a nice jam on Stranglehold. He came out for one encore of Great White Buffalo. The sell out crowd in this nice venue were defintely entertained, thanks Uncle Ted.Slideshow
