Saturday In The Event Center At Turning Stone With Chicago |

 4/22/2023 - Verona, New York - Today, we decided at the last minute to take a ride East down the NYS Thruway to Turning Stone Casino's Event Center in Verona, New York to see one of our favorite bands, Chicago. We picked up a couple of tickets for cheap on Stubhub a few hours before the show and hopped in the car and made it to the casino in just under two hours. It was a rainy day and we arrived early enough to grab a decent quick meal at the Emerald Restaurant and Deb even managed to get some gaming in prior to the show. We then headed to the Event Center which is connected to the casino. The venue holds about 5,000 and even though our tickets were far back, we still had a great view for the show. The band opened a couple minutes past the 8PM start time and played a hit filled, but short ninety minute set. They played classics like Beginnings with 78 year old Robert Lamm doing and excellent job on lead vocals. Some other hits included I'm A Man and Dialogue Parts I & II with Lamm and Neil Donell sharing the vocals. The band was good and they closed the short set with Saturday In The Park and Feelin' Stronger Every Day. The band then came out for a two song encore first playing Free and then closing with their classic 25 Or 6 To 4. A good show that was definitely worth the trip, my only complaint is that they should have played longer!Slideshow | |
