Free Last Minute Chicago Show At Kodak Center |

 6/21/2023 - Rochester, New York - Today, I was sitting home doing nothing when my phone rang and my brother came across Chicago tickets for tonight's performance at the Kodak Center in downtown Rochester, New York. It was literally only three hours before the show and Mike decided to drive to Rochester and join me for this last minute excellent freebie concert. We made it just barely early enough to grab quick beverages and snacks prior to the show start. This show appeared to be a sellout and our tickets were just okay about twenty-five rows back far right of stage. Not great but decent and oh yea they were free. The show started a little after 8PM and Chicago played the typical excellent two hour set. They played classics like Questions 67 & 68, Make Me Smile and Colour My World in the first set. Robert Lamm and Neil Donell shared the majority of the lead vocals. After a twenty minute intermission the band came out for a strong second set. They played more classics like Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? and Saturday In The Park. The 78 year old Lamm continued providing excellent vocals and the horn section of James Pankow, Lee Loughnane and Ray Herrmann still get the job done. They finished the show with two song encore of Free and the finale 25 or 6 to 4. Again an excellent free show by a great group of older musicians who are still getting it done.Slideshow | |
