Frampton Says Never Say Never At Turning Stone Event Center |

 7/28/2023 - Verona, New York - In a shocking development, I decided at the last minute to grab a ticket on Ticketmonster and head east down the NYS Thruway to Verona, New York to see the classic rock guitar stylings of Mr. Peter Frampton at the Turning Stone Event Center. I arrived early at Turning Stone and was able to grab a decent dinner at the Emerald Restaurant. I headed into the Event Center to my seat way back center stage still decent. The show was not a sellout but a decent crowd was here to see Frampton on his Never Say Never 2023 Tour. Frampton had retired from touring due to physical issues but due to feeling good he decided to unretire and tour again. He came out promptly to start the show walking on stage with a cane and taking a seat for the entire two hour plus set. He played many classics including (I'll Give You) Money and All I Want To Be (Is By Your Side). He played some nice covers including Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun and Hogey Carmicheal's Georgia (On My Mind). Again, he and his band sat in chairs for almost the whole set. Frampton's voice and guitar work sounded excellent but I felt he lost a little of his embellishment on some solos due to being seated, still good but I have seen him do better. Regrardless, he entertained and truly appeared happy to be performing. He closed the show with a cover of the Beatle's While My Guitar Gently Weeps. After the show, Frampton came out and talked about Never Saying Never and said he wants to play as long as his body allows him too and did not rule out a Never Say Never 2024 Tour.
