John Fogerty & Steve Winwood Close Out CMAC Concert Season |
|---|
9/5/2026 - Canandaigua, New York - When I checked the CMAC Concert schedule there was only one show that I had to see and it was the last one of their concert season, it was the two lengendary performers John Fogerty and Steve Winwood performing during their Legacy Tour. I purchased a ticket as soon as they went on sale and managed to get a seat in the fourth row just right of center stage. Deb the contest queen also won a pair of lawn tickets and her and her sister joined me on this gorgeous September night. We arrived early enough to get a great parking spot and they acquired a decent lawn spot. I stopped and got my mandatory RC Cola and then headed to my excellent seat. At this point, I discovered my camera had no memory card, dammit ! The show started with Steve Winwood hiting the stage with his band and doing a short good set of a lifetime of his classics. He did Traffic hits like Glad and a guitar jam filled Dear Mr. Fantasy. His band included Tristan Banks on drums, Randall Brambell on horns, Nate Williams on keys, Edwin Sanz on percussion and Winwood's daughter Lily Winwood on backing vocals and keyboards. He did Blind Faith's Can't Find My Way Home, solo stuff like Roll With It and Higher Love, and closed the show with the Spencer Davis Group's Gimme Some Lovin'. A good show that had a couple spots of Steve showing his age a bit but still very good. John Fogerty and his band then hit the stage and played as many of his classic hits as he could fit into the two hour set. He opened with Bad Moon Rising and played classics like Who'll Stop The Rain, Lookin' Out My Back Door and Down On The Corner. They jammed on Keep On Chooglin' and I Heard It Through THe Grapevine. John sounded better than the last time I saw him a year ago and he had great energy. His band included his two sons Shane and Tyler Fogerty on guitar and vocals and Rob Stone on sax, Jesse Noah Nelson on bass, Doug Laothe on keys and Richard Millsap on drums. They closed the show with encores of Lodi and Proud Mary. A good show that paired not one but two music legends together for what was an entertaining last show of the CMAC season.
