 6/14/2006 - Lockport, New York - John Benny DeFilippo, Sr., of Lockport, NY, entered into rest Wednesday, June 14, 2006. Born on Sunday February 19, 1928, in Lockport, he was the sixth child of nine of the late Nicolo and Lena Ruberto DeFilippo. John worked for Harrison Radiator for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He was a US Navy Verteran and also a member of the Niagara County Sheriffs Dept. Marine Patrol Division. John enjoyed old cars and was an avid sports card collector. He also enjoyed playing euchre and was on team for many years. Husband of Mary E. Spedding DeFilippo, whom he married in October 9, 1954; father of Douglas DeFilippo, Deborah Weyers, Thomas (Lisa) DeFilippo, all of Lockport and the late John B. DeFilippo, Jr; grandfather of Kellye Weyers, Nicholas DeFilippo, Stephanie DeFilippo, Gregory Weyers, Natalie and Tyler Nolte; brother of Mary DeFilippo, Frances Florio, Ellen (William) Anterline, Loren (Jerry) DeFilippo of WV, Nicholas DeFilippo of Florida and the late Virginia Rising, Dominick and Angelo DeFilippo; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday in St. John the Baptist Church, 168 Chestnut St., at 10 AM.
