Rush Celebrates 40 Years Of Rock At First Niagara Center

6/10/2015 - Buffalo, New York - Another day and another free show compliments of Deb the contest queen. This win was a good one, todays band was the classic rock of Canada's power trio Rush playing at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. We arrived just in time for this show and Rush played with no opening band to a sell out crowd. Rush hit the stage on time and played a diverse set of new and plenty of old classics as part of their R40 Live: 40th Anniversary Tour. The first set included many new songs and some not so new including Anarchist, Roll The Bones and Subdivisions. After this set the band took a break and came out and played an awesome second set. This set opened with South Park introducing Tom Sawyer and just went bigger after this opening number. The set included all of 2112 and Cygnus X1 with a nice drum solo by Neil Peart. It included other classics like Closer To The Heart and a nice jam on Xanadu. After another break they then came out and played a four song encore that included Lakeside Park, Anthem and finished with Working Man. A very good show with Alex Liefson showing he can still play even suffering from arthritis and Geddy Lee showing he can still sing the tunes pretty well and Neil Peart is still Neil Peart even with tendinitis in his shoulder. The show also included a nice light show and even some pyrotechnics to enhance the experience. Rush is showing there age a bit but they still get it done. Another awesome free show.....Slideshow
