 8/12/2016 - Canandaigua, New York - Today we headed East to CMAC, or lesser known as Constellation Brands - Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center, in Canandaigua, New York for one of our free summer shows tonight's artist Don Henley. The show had no opener and the crowd was not near a sellout. Deb won these tickets weeks ago which were far back left center stage but again free. Don Henley and his large band hit the stage on time and played a mix of Eagles, Henley solo stuff and a lot of his new country album Cass County. His band was excellent having three guitar players, a full horn section and numerous backup singers. He played many Eagles classics like Witchy Woman, One of These Nights and The Last Resort to name a few. He played plenty of his solo hits like Sunset Grill, The Heart of The Matter and Dirty Laundry and also thru in a cover of Tears For Fears Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Again his band was tight and his voice spot on. He played numerous songs from his new country album Cass County, telling the audience he does not care at his age and will play what he wants. He said if you don't like the songs you can leave! He ended the set with The Boys Of Summer. He came out for two separate encores with the first having nice covers of Life In The Fast Lane and a good guitar jam on the classic Hotel California. The second encore had All She Wants To Do Is Dance and finishing with a nice version of Desparado. A great concert and again did I mention it was free. Slideshow |
