John Mayer Opens The Search For Everything Tour In Albany |

 3/31/2017 - Albany, New York - Today, we left work and school early and headed east down the NYS Thruway to see John Mayer open his Search For Everything tour at Times Union Center in downtown Albany. We made a quick stop at Dibellas for lunch and hit the road driving almost four hours arriving a couple hours before the show in our states capital. We decided to grab a bite in rainy downtown Albany prior to the show at Pizzeria Sapienza. We then headed to the arena and waited to enter. After getting thru metal detectors carrying metal we headed to our seats. The first seats we had were obstructed by a camera area so I headed to customer service and we moved closer to the stage only to have another obstructed view from some stage setup, so back to customer service to change our seats a second time with no obstruction right of the stage great seats. The show started promptly at 7:30 with The Record Company. They played a bluesy short set that included harmonicas and slide guitar. After a short intermission John Mayer and his band came out and played a pretty good set. He played a full band set, acoustic set and a trio set with bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan. He played a little bit of everything including a nice jam on In Repair. He also played a nice tribute to Chuck Berry covering Promised Land with the trio band that really rocked the show. The trio also played the Hendrix tune Wait Until Tomorrow and Who Did You Think I Was. He came out for a couple encores that included Slow Dancing In A Burning Room and a solo on piano to close out the show of You're Gonna Live Forever In Me. A very good show. After the show we headed back home stopping at Turning Stone Casino for Dom's first live action where he won hundred dollars at the blackjack tables in less than a half hour.
