 9/1/2017 - Rome, Italy - Today, we arrived in Rome Italy on the first leg of our Europe trip celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The trip started the day before hopping in the car mid afternoon and driving across the border into Canada. We headed to Toronto's Pearson International Airport , first stopping for Deb's fix of Swiss Chalet, and then catching an overnight direct Air Canada flight from Toronto to Rome. We arrived early afternoon in Rome without issue, grabbed our bags and caught our car to the Hotel Artemide located in the heart of downtown Rome. The hotel, room, staff, service and delicious daily breakfasts were all excellent a superb hotel choice. We checked into the spotless room and began our exploration of Rome. The hotel location was perfect to walk to all the city of Rome had to offer. We walked the streets for hours taking in all the sights like the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, Altare della Patria, Pantheon and the Spanish Steps to name a few. We explored numerous churches with architecture, sculptures and paintings that were incredible. The city was just beautiful and the weather perfect. This was an excellent start to our European adventure, much more to come.Slideshow |
